Bus Regulations For ALL West Platte R-II School Buses
Misconduct on bus automatically suspends students from riding until reinstated by the bus contractor and the principal. Transportation regulations are in conformance with Missouri State Transportation Code.
All students riding buses operated for the West Platte Schools, either on daily routes or authorized activity trips, shall follow these regulations.
1. Driver is in charge of the pupils and the bus. Pupils must obey the driver promptly and cheerfully.
2. Driver may, if deemed necessary, assign pupils to specified seats.
3. Classroom conduct is to be observed by pupils while riding in the bus. Loud unnecessary noise, shouting or scuffling is prohibited.
4. Moving about in the bus from seat to seat is prohibited. Three students will use each seat when necessary.
5. Pupils must not at any time extend arms or head out of bus windows.
6. Pupils must not throw trash or wastepaper on the floor or from the bus windows.
7. Pupils must not try to get on or off the bus, or move about within the bus, while it is in motion. Wait until the bus has come to a complete stop before leaving seat.
8. Pupils must be on time; the bus cannot wait beyond its regular schedule for those who are tardy.
9. Unnecessary conversation with the driver is prohibited.
10. Driver will not discharge riders at places other than the regular bus stop near the pupils home, or at school, unless by proper authorization by parent or the school principal.
11. No animals shall be permitted on the bus.
12. Pupils who must cross the road after leaving the bus or to board the bus shall cross in front of the bus and only upon the signal given by the driver.
13. West Platte School buses operate at near the seating capacity of the bus. Students other than those assigned shall obtain permission from the contractor or the driver before being permitted to board the bus for transportation to a specified destination.
14. No food, drink or tobacco will be allowed on the buses.
Rules and regulations are for your safety. If they should be violated, a pupil will be refused the privilege of riding the bus.
