FIELD OF THE YEAR—AGAIN

Stoutland High School, the baseball team, their fans, and coach Scott White got more good news from the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association (MHSBCA) this past weekend as they were presented with their second

Field Of The Year Award.

Stoutland also won the award in 2004.  The award has been in existence since 2004 and the Tigers have won it 2 out of the last 3 years.  Coach White had this to say about receiving this award, “We work really hard on that field.  When I say we, I mean the players, myself, Bradley Willard, Randy McMillion, Steve Burns, Estel Becker, Dave Hendrix, and many others.  It is most certainly a team effort.”

Many of the attributes of Tiger Field have not changed over the years, but they still remain some of the best in the state.  Much of the reasoning for that is the forethought that went into the process when it was first built.  Tiger Field boasts one of the best scoreboards you will see at the high school level that is equipped with all digital lighting.  It also continues to set the standard for entertainment with its state of the art sound system.  Along with these, the below ground dugouts, which can only be compared to those you see on television, continue to set the standards for high schools in the state.

With all the stuff that has been here, the new amenities are just as nice.  The Stoutland district, Booster Club, Willard Asphalt and Paving, and Lebanon Ready Mix have built a combination bathroom-locker room facility this past fall.  The bathroom has both men’s and women’s facilities, and the locker room has a 40 x 20 foot area that will store some equipment, but also allow the players to dress on site.  Added to this wonderful new facility is complete asphalt around both sides of the batting cages.  Not only is it asphalted, it is also overlaid with premium Astroturf, making batting practice and soft toss a thing of luxury for the Tigers.  Add to that the new updates of a $2,500 laptop computer donated by Dell computers for the sound system, and Tiger Field will be Rockin and Rollin this spring.
