Tiger Field was announced this weekend as the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association (MHSBCA) Field Of The Year for 2004.

The award, which was started in January of this year was started to recognize those schools around the state that have and maintain quality fields.  Also, to recognize those groundskeepers that work unbelievably hard to maintain such quality for the baseball players in our State.

Stoutland High School’s Tiger Field is the first recipient of that award.  "Stoutland had major competition for the award from many schools such as Sedalia, Forsyth, Branson, and many others," according to MHSBCA Field Of The Year Chairman, Chris Stanfield.

Some of the main attributes of Tiger Field, that set it apart from most high school fields, include below ground dugouts, green hitter's backdrop, Astroturf walkways, netting, instead of fencing behind home, professional caliber scoreboard, and top of the line sound system.
