1st ANNUAL TIGER BASEBALL CAMP

The Stoutland Tigers welcomed 30 campers from all different ages to the 1st Annual Stoutland Baseball Camp.  The camp was a huge success despite 50 degree weather and misting rain.  The camp was run by Coach Scott White and his players.

The camp was held on Saturday, April 19th, and was broken up into 4 age classifications.  At 9:00 a.m. the 2nd-4th graders came.  At 12:00 p.m. the 5th and 6th graders came and at 3:00 p.m. the 7th and 8th graders participated.  After each age got done, there was an awards assembly and Coach White gave the campers their t-shirts, which were sponsored by Lowe Boats and Hardees.  Coach White also gave the campers a DVD that had every skill they had worked on at camp done by his high school players.  Coach White was pleased with the turnout and the fact that he was able to give the kids something lasting.  "We believe that our baseball program involves parents, administrators, and especially all the kids in our school system.  It is important that the learn the right fundamentals, and what better way to learn than by watching and imitating a DVD that has some of the very best players to ever play high school baseball here at Stoutland."

You can rest assured that as successful as this camp was there will be another according to Coach White.  "I thought the camp was fantastic.  I was excited to see all the kids, because lets face it, after the cold and wet, some moms were going to be dealing with some runny noses.  I can't imagine the turnout we will have with good weather.  We will try to get mother nature to help out next year."
