Before you begin,  you will ask one of your trusty business associates to accompany you on the trip and assist you with the trading store idea.  You will then travel together to the new territory.  Upon arrival,  you will have to perform many tasks to accomplish your goal.  Here is a checklist of the tasks you will have to complete.

*A-  You will use Internet Resources to research the different groups of people living in the territory you wish to do business.  The groups you will focus on will be the Frenchmen(mountain men and fur trappers) and Native American tribes. Within these groups you will research:

 #1-How do they live?
 #2-What items do they use in their everyday life? (Jobs, tools, fun)
 #3-What items do they desire from other groups and what are 
        they willing to pay for them?  What are their price values?
 #4-What are their wants and needs?
 #5-How do the groups depend of each other?

*B- You and your associate will use Microsoft Word to write a letter
       to a family member explaining what the word "barter" means.
       Write about bartering and its importance in a community that uses
       it.

*C-  Using Microsoft Excel, prepare an inventory list of what supplies
        and items you will stock your store with.  Determine their barter prices
        and create a price list using posterboard and markers.

*D-  Use Microsoft Word to design the floor layout of the inside of your 
        store.  Determine where the items demanded most should be stocked.

*E-  Once completed, your store will have a grand opening and you and your
        associate will spend a day operating your trading post.
