Mr.
Rick Cook -
Superintendent of Schools
Dear Community Patron,I believe the mission and goal of
our school are identical: to provide students the best possible
motivation and educational opportunities in a character building
atmosphere which will prepare them for a meaningful and successful future.
This year the district's Professional Development Committee and
administration will be promoting Appreciation and Teamwork. I have always
felt honored to have worked in the educational profession. This
profession has so many rewards. An educator has the opportunity to make a
substantial difference in the lives of children, parents and co-workers.
We should make each day fun, fulfilling and enjoyable for all.
Happiness in the workplace cannot be neglected when striving for academic
excellence.
" I like where I work.
I like coming to
school.
I feel comfortable being able to express my opinion.
I feel like someone cares about me.
I feel like someone listens to me."
These are not trite expressions when it comes to having a successful
school system.
Good effective teaching establishes a positive environment were students
can and do reach their potential.
Teamwork and loyalty are not "given" but are established through an
atmosphere of trust and respect, and they are as necessary in a productive
school atmosphere as is a chain of command or rules in a football game.
Teachers, administrators, employees, and parents who connect and build
relationships with children, are an integral part of academic success.
Open lines of communication, from the board down or the student up, are of
utmost importance in a successful school.
The administrative team must see itself as co-workers, support personnel,
as well as authority figures.
The motto, Tradition, Pride and Class,
is embedded in the very fabric of the Seneca community. We have a small
town but one that expects excellence. It is our job to continue those
expectations. Seneca has a great past of tradition and accomplishments and
these will inspire our passion for excellence in the future. Pride does
not give way to excuses which undermines goals and aspirations.
Class is a character thing. It does matter that we do the right thing all
the time. It does matter how we look, talk, and act. We as educators
pass these truths on to future generations as other educators have before
us. We must hold our banner high, Tradition,
Pride and Class!
The Seneca patrons have been big supporters and promoters of the Seneca
School System for decades. The patrons are watching and cheering us on.
They want to see dedication, commitment and unity. As they see us deliver,
they will show at the polls.
Seneca R-VII is on a mission with a vision for excellence for each child,
each parent, each teacher, each administrator and each Board member.
We are a team focused on academic achievement for every child. This past
school term the R-VII employee shared in a district accomplishment. The
State of Missouri recognized Seneca’s Public Educational System with their
highest honor, ACADEMIC DISTINCTION.
This honor could not have been achieved without commitment and joint
effort from everyone.
We all shared the benefits of this great honor. Congratulations
Seneca!
Respectfully Yours,
Rick D. Cook
