The Board of Education may employ a superintendent of schools for a contract not to exceed three (3) years. The superintendent shall be employed on a 12-month basis.
Employment will be secured through a written contract, which will state the terms of the appointment, compensation, vacation time, benefits and other conditions of employment. The superintendent's contract shall be reviewed annually, and may be extended at the discretion of the Board.
Superintendent’s Leave Policy The superintendent shall be entitled to eight (8) days annual leave for personal, funerals and sick leave. The eight days are nto to be used for vacations. These leave days may accumulate to ninety (90) days, which is the same as other certified personnel receive.
Expenses The superintendent shall be reimbursed for necessary expenses incurred in the performance of his or her duties, including attendance at conferences and professional meetings, the rate to be set by the Board of Education.
Vacation The superintendent is entitled to a three (3)-week vacation per year.
