Computer Lab Rules

Arrival

  1. Come in quietly. Do not talk in the hall.
  2. Always bring a pencil with you to class.
  3. Have a seat at your assigned computer.

  1. Always have clean hands.
  2. No food, drinks or gum at your workstation.
  3. Treat the mice and headphones respectfully.
  4. Don’t touch the wires behind the computer.  Print with permission ONLY.  Click PRINT once.
  5. Please leave backpacks, other books, etc… on the big table or under your chair.  You only need a pencil for this class (on occasion a jump drive) so everything else should be left in your classroom or in your locker.
  6. Do not change desktop backgrounds, screensavers or other system settings.
  7. Do not download anything to your computer without permission.  This includes music files, videos, games, screensavers and software.

  1. Help others with your mouth not mouse.
  2. Keep your hands on your computer only.
  3. Open only your work.
  4. Be respectful when others are speaking.

  1. Always do your best work.
  2. Always do your OWN work.
  3. Make good choices about how to speak and act both in the classroom and on your computer.

Internet Rulesemail

1.      Stay on approved websites.  When you have free time you should choose a game that is NAMED on the school website.  When you click on a game or activity and then click on a different game from that page you are not choosing a game that is NAMED on the school website.
2.      No personal e-mail.
3.      No chatting.  This includes all instant messengers and chatrooms.
4.      No social networks (MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, Friendster, Xanga, Twitter, etc…)
5.      Never give out personal information.

  1. Log out.
  2. Organize your area before you leave so that it is neat and tidy for the next person.
  3. Take all of your belongings with you.
  4. Return borrowed pencils.
  5. Do not talk in the hallway.

Consequences for following these rules include becoming more efficient and productive with computers,
completing all your assignments and feeling great about yourself!
Consequences for not following these rules include the following:  warning, loss of computer
privileges, recess detention, written assignment, parent notification or discipline slip.  Consequences will be based on severity of the offense.
