What is HPR*TEC
?
*One of 10
RTECs (Regional Technology in Education Consortia) funded by the U.S.
Department of Education
*Region Covering: Colorado,
Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming
* They provide technical
assistance, professional and leadership development, information dissemination
and collaboration work in helping educational institutions better integrate
technology in their instructional and administrative efforts.
The Network of Solutions:
Assign-A-Day
is designed to enhance teacher and student communication through an on-line,
teacher-managed calendar. Teachers create a calendar for each of their
classes and add assignments for the students to view.

Tool
that allows K-16 teachers and students to use their own photographs (or
those which they have copyright permission) as the basis of a web-based
lesson.
Think
Tank is designed to help students develop a Research Organizer (a
list of topics and subtopics) for reports and projects. Based on the subject
assigned, the students can refine it by choosing from a variety of suggestions
and by using a random subtopic generator.
Web-based utility to post web pages or series of web pages for educational
use. Teachers can post lessons online in a snap with Web Worksheet
Wizard.

to publish projects and reports on the Web.
TrackStar
helps instructors organize and annotate Web sites (URLs) for use in lessons.
TrackStar can be your starting point for online, interactive lessons. Create
your own Track or build upon any of the thousands of Tracks created by
other teachers
across America for a quick
and easy lesson plan.The resource list remains visible allowing the user
to easily stay on track.

Web-based utility designed to create a custom quiz that others can take
online! If you have a lesson plan centered around internet websites, or
if you want students to be able to do take-home assignments over the internet,
then QuizStar is for you!

Students
can take notes from online sources as they browse the Internet. Source
information is automatically captured in order to assist in work citation.
Once their notes are gathered, students may then organize their notes to
suit their project's goals.

Casa
Notes is designed to allow teachers to quickly
make, and customize, typical
notes that are sent home to parents or given to the students. This is done
by using templates and allowing the teachers to customize some of
the content, choose a color scheme and add a graphic. The notes can then
be printed in English or in Spanish.
Web-based tool used to create
age-appropriate, customizable project checklists for written reports, multimedia
projects, oral presentations, and science projects.
Project Based Learning gives
your students responsibility for their own learning.
RubiStar is a tool to help the teacher who wants to use rubrics but does
not have the time to develop them from scratch. The unique thing about
RubiStar, however, is that it provides these generic rubrics in a format
that can be customized. The teacher can change almost all suggested text
in the rubric to make it fit their own project.
