| Teachers prepare their students throughout
the school year for the MAP test in the spring. They not only prepare
them by teaching the curriculum as it pertains to the Show-Me-Standards
and the school district Curriculum Guides; they also prepare students with
test-taking strategies and practice assignments. Teachers in
the Poplar Bluff School District have worked hard all year learning more
about the MAP test and teaching strategies in workshops and inservices.
They have done many of these activities on their own time and prepared
Open-Ended Constructed Response questions pertaining to their curriculum
in order to help students prepare for the MAP.
Parents are also an integral part of students' success in testing and school achievement. Parents involved in their children's education improve the chances that their child will receive a quality education. Students need the reinforcement of parents and teachers working together to help them succeed. The relationship between the child, parents and teachers are like pieces of a puzzle. In order to have the best results, all three pieces need to be in contact and working together. The results are not as good with just one or two pieces working. This page is designed to give parents and teachers some additional testing tips and activities to help students test without anxiety and with confidence. |
