FAFSA Update

(Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

FAFSA forms are now available in the high school office. You should submit your application as early as possible, but no earlier than January 1, 2006. Forms may be completed through a paper version or the FAFSA is available on the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov for those who would prefer to apply online. As a general guideline, colleges recommend early submission of the FAFSA as waiting until the deadline may lead to late submissions if the form did not get processed by the deadline date or lack of funds.

Each college and university in the state has different deadlines for submission. The following information is provided as a guideline as to when the FAFSA should be submitted for schools that our students normally attend. If you plan to attend one of the schools listed below, it is your responsibility to confirm with the college the exact deadline date or specific recommendations. If you need information regarding any other school in Missouri, please feel free to contact me. Please note that these deadlines are when the central processor must receive the application – NOT A POSTMARK DATE!

Central Methodist University – March 15, 2006

Central Missouri State University – April 1, 2006

College of the Ozarks – February 15, 2006

Columbia College – March 1, 2006

Culver Stockton University – May 1, 2006

Lincoln University – April 1, 2006

Linn State Technical College – April 1, 2006

Missouri State University – March 31, 2006

Missouri Valley College – April 1, 2006

Moberly Area Community College – April 1, 2006

Rockhurst University – March 1, 2006

State Fair Community College – March 1, 2006

Stephens College – March 15, 2006

For state based aid programs, the central processor must RECEIVE the FAFSA by April 1, 2006.
