Pilot Grove C-4 Course Descriptions

MUSIC DEPARTMENT

Prerequisite: None
Grade:  9, 10, 11, 12                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Designed to enable students to continue improvement of their instrumental performance abilities through the exposure to music from various eras and performance mediums. The students will gain a more detailed knowledge of musical terminology, styles and history. This class is performance oriented and all students are expected to perform at clinics, parades, ballgames, concerts, and contests. Additionally, students are to abide by the conduct rules of the band. (1 Unit)

Chorus
Prerequisite:  None
Grade: 9, 10, 11, 12
Audition may be required.  The student is expected to sing 2, 3, and 4-part harmony.  The student will gain an understanding of vocal techniques required to sing correctly.  Additionally, the student will study vocal history and styles, musical terminology and performance.  This class is performance oriented and students are expected to perform at various events throughout the year.  (1 Unit)
