Osborn School has joined the Northwest Culture of Character,
and we're setting the P.A.C.E.--Partners Achieving Character Excellence!

The Osborn School District believes in preparing students for all aspects of becoming successful and contributing citizens--this encompasses more than academics. Beginning with the 2008-2009 school year we have joined the above organizations which places an increased focus on the character displayed by all of us-- faculty, staff, students, and community.

Character Traits of the Month

August: Responsibility – taking ownership of what you say and do
September: Respect – treating others with courtesy and honor
October: Self-control – having control over one’s actions, words, & emotions
November: Citizenship – being loyal to your school, community, & country
December: Compassion – caring for others with kindness
January: Tolerance – acceptance of differences and the uniqueness of others and celebrating the common ground we share
February: Honesty – being truthful in what you say and do
March: Cooperation – working together toward a common goal
April: Perseverance – demonstrating determination and commitment to complete a task
May: Patience – ability to remain calm and to wait for what you want
June: Confidence – freedom from doubt and believing in yourself
July: Integrity – always doing the right thing even when no one else is watching

Character Trait of the Month--on the marquee, posters in the classrooms, on the bulletin, and on the webpage
Character Trait ceiling tiles--one of Mrs. Peckman's classes has painted the ceiling tiles leading to the lunchroom with each of the monthly traits
High school/Elementary school buddy activities focusing on the traits
High school and elementary Friday assemblies
Elementary multiage teams that meet during Friday assemblies--they even designed their own team shirts!
Elementary Wildcat P.R.I.D.E. (presonal recognition in daily effort) Awards! At the beginning of each month an elementary teacher can designate this award to the student in their class that has done the most outstanding job of demonstrating the trait from the previous month
