Academics at North Andrew High School | ART
Art I
Art I is a year long course designed to introduce students to all kinds of art and ways to look, analyze, judge, and create it. Class time is split between creating and responding to works of art. Students explore a variety of media and processes as they learn to successfully express themselves and communicate ideas.
Advanced Art
The Advanced Art course is open to all upperclassmen. It is a one year course. The prerequisite for Advanced Art is to have taken and passed Art I. The emphasis in Advanced Art is on the fine arts: drawing, pottery, sculpture, printmaking, and art history. Students are required to complete a specific number of projects and reports each quarter and keep a sketchbook for weekly drawings apart from the class.
