This lesson was developed to address the needs of  the California R-1 Fourth Grade Social Studies Curriculum and The Show Me Standards.  A topic of study for fourth graders is Indians of Missouri.  This WebQuest provides an opportunity for fourth graders to think critically about the culture of the Osage Indians, or another tribe of their choice, and to utilize what they learn to create a utilitarian modern town based upon their needs.

Students will begin by researching Indians of Missouri.  Then they will use their knowledge to create a 3-D model of an Indian village that mixes the needs of the Indians with a modern town.  The final step is to create a video-taped interview of an Indian sharing his or her feelings about the new town.
