Calendar (Annual)
A yearly calendar should be provided to all members of the school population. This calendar is a broad overview of activities for families, standardized tests dates, student teacher conferences, planned classroom counselor times, and college career nights. It can and should be adjusted throughout the year with teacher input to make sure current classroom issues and concerns are addressed as needed (students are not studying for tests or returning homework has became a class wide problem or bullying etc)
Notes on 2009-2010 Yearly Calendar for Counseling
* Last year Job Fair was held in November in cooperation with the A+ and career services PLC – would like to schedule another for sometime during the 09-10 year but have not set date.
* Last year College Fair was held in November, we will take 11th and 12th to Ava’s College Fair this year and hopefully get on the Missouri Association of Colleges calendar for 2010-2011 – I have already spoken with them and they just couldn’t fit us in this year but said next year should not be a problem.
2009-2010 School Counseling Yearly Calendar
This is a rough idea of counseling events, please remember if scheduled for in classroom lesson and an emergency situation occurs with a student – I will have to reschedule. I will get with each classroom teacher to plan on a time and day that works with your schedule. A monthly calendar will be provided to all classroom teachers with exact dates of lesson days after monthly approval from building principal. Students are welcome to come to my office at anytime.
