Distinction in Academic Performance
During school years 2001-02, 2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09 Leopold School District was awarded the "Distinction in Performance Award" by the Missouri Department of Education for outstanding school performance. During three of these eight years, the school district received a perfect 100 points on their ratings. Leopold has been ranked among the "Top 10" small school districts in the state. During school year 2006-07 Leopold was chosen as the "Best School in Southeast Missouri" by the Southeast Missourian newspaper. This award was again presented to Leopold School during school year 2007-08. Gold Star Award On May 6, 2008, Leopold High School was awarded the "Gold Star Award" at a ceremony held in Jefferson City, Mo. Leopold was one of fifteen schools in the state to receive this award based on the students performing in the top 10% of all schools on state assessments (MAP), and the school adequately meeting the yearly progress reqirements. |
