Family
My husband and I married in June of 1997, and moved to Slidell, LA, because he was stationed in New Orleans with the Coast Guard. There's really no place like home, so we moved back in 1998 when he got out of the military.
Our son was born in September of 2001, just days before the 9/11 attacks. He has become the center of our lives. I am forever amazed at all the things he's learning to do and say. He is developing quite a sense of humor. Right now, he enjoys knock-knock jokes, but isn't too good at coming up with his own.
Mister, our dog, has been a part of the family for about 12 years. He belonged to my husband long before we ever met. He's getting old though and is going deaf and blind. I feel sorry for him, especially when he doesn't hear us calling him to give him a treat.

Other Interests/Hobbies
I love to read, which probably lead to my becoming an English teacher. I used to sneak a flashlight to bed with me when I was a kid so I could read under the covers so my parents wouldn't yell at me to go to sleep. I read as much as I can now, but I don't have as much time (or spare energy).
I can play piano and flute, and used to be on a dance team when I taught at Eagle Ridge. I don't do too much in the way of music at present, but someday I'll get back into it.
I enjoy watching some basketball (76er's and Kentucky Wildcats) and football (Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Rams). My husband is so into basketball that we pay for the NBA channels every year so he can get all the information on all his favorite teams.
Oh, and I can't forget movies, shopping, and eating out, my husband's three favorite family activities.
