Teaching Experience---My first teaching experience was at Central Elementary in Dexter Mo.  I taught 3rd - 5th grade music for 3 years.  In 1997 I began substitute teaching at Advance.  I was a substitute for 6 years and did many maternity leaves and medical leaves.  I have taught everything from Kindergarten classroom to High School Vo-ag.
 

Plans for this year---This school year we are going to spend a lot of time learning through instrument playing.  We have several new instruments and we'll use them to study tempo, dynamics and ensemble playing.
 
 

Homework---Students are given time in class to complete any work given.
 

Family---I am married and have 2 boys.  Gavin, my husband, pastors Christian Life Church in Advance.

My oldest son, Weston, is 16 and a Jr. at Advance High School.  He plays the alto sax in band and is involved in other clubs and activities.  He also plays the drums for our praise and worship team at church.  This past spring he received his umpire certification and now umps for little league and Junior Babe Ruth baseball. Weston is an honor student and plans on attending college after graduation.

Kyndel is in the 7th grade at Advance and plays the trumpet in band.  He runs cross country, plays basketball and is the catcher for his Junior Babe Ruth baseball team. Kyndel works in the Audio/Visual Department at church.  He is an honor student and plans to attend college after graduation.

Both boys, and their dad, play paint ball.  They belong to Team Smakfactor.
 

Other Interests/Hobbies---I enjoy being with my family.  In the spring, I enjoy baseball.  In the fall, I like to go to cross county meets and parades.  In the winter, I enjoy basketball. Whatever my boys are doing, that's what I am doing.

I enjoy planting flowers and tending to them in the spring and summer.
