Western Civilization 201 Course Description
ABOUT THIS COURSE
The Western Civilization course is a great way to earn your college credit! Each student can earn 1/2 unit of HMHS Social Studies credit by earning a passing grade. In order to earn 3 hours of UMKC credit hours the student must enroll with UMKC, pay the tuition, and earn a letter grade of C or higher. The work load is the same whether you enroll for UMKC credit or not, so why do all this work and not get college credit for it? You can earn up to 3 UMKC credit hours each semester for history classes. You could earn up to 12 UMKC credit if you took both American History and Western Civ. for the whole year.
UMKC credits are transferable to other colleges and universities. No distinction is made on the UMKC transcript that the credits you earned were in a high school setting. Your transcript will look like any other issued to a UMKC student. DEADLINE for enrollment is FRIDAY, SEPT 12th for Westeren Civ. 201. Western Civ. 202 DEADLINE is next semester.
