American Government - 1/2 Credit

This course is concerned with the nature of the American government. Emphasis is placed upon the history of the U.S. Government, the function of the 3 branckes of the government and a thorough study of both the U.S. Constitution and the Missouri Constitution exam. (Semester Long)

World Geography - 1/2 Credit

This course will be a semester survey of World Geography. This course is needed to provide transition and background from Civics in the eighth grade to World History in th 11th grade. The emphasis will be placed upon the development of map skills and the study of various regions of the world and their cultures. Each cultural area wil be studied from three viewpoints: (1) how people adjust to their environment; (2) how people modify their environment; and (3) the relationship vetween geography and the contemporary scene.
