The English as a Second Language program currently involves two basic phases. The Introductory-Survival English course teaches students the critical structures of the English language so they can begin to be successfully independent in their schoolwork. In the Advanced-Competency English course, the student focuses on learning the standard school curriculum taught in mainstream English classes but in a sheltered environment. Through out the course they practice key aspects of fluency, reading and writing. |
