The community of Hickman Mills will be having its Centennial celebration in 2002.  The school district has asked our class to research the Santa Fe Trail as it came through Hickman Mills.   Your class has been assigned the job of doing the research of the Santa Fe Trail  through the Hickman Mills community, which is a very large part of our history.   The Santa Fe Trail, which began in Independence, Missouri, marked the beginning of pioneers embarking on their journey westward.  You are to construct a model of the Santa Fe Trail as it traveled through our community in the 1800's.

Your models will be on display for the residents of Hickman Mills to enjoy and learn about their communitie's history at tthe Centennial celebration in the spring of 2002.
