Philosophy/ Rationale

The philosophy of the science curriculum is based on providing the students with classroom activities that will enhance their knowledge of matter and energy, force and motion, living systems, ecology, Earth systems, universe, scientific inquiry, and scientific relevance.  The science program will develop thinking skills that will enable students to become better problem solvers and intelligent decision makers.  Thinking skills include skills people use to collect, understand, interpret, apply, and evaluate information and ideas.

It is the goal of the science teachers to develop an appreciation for the natural environment as well as an understanding of it.
