Information about our Library

Avenue City Elementary School library, which serves approximately 130 students, is staffed by a part-time certified library media specialist. A combination of fixed scheduling and flexible scheduling is used.

The library is networked with full Internet access via a T1 line. We are a member of the MOREnet consortium.

The library is fully automated with Athena cataloging and circulation system.

The library newly constructed in December 2000, is carpeted and has central air conditioning. It houses over 6,000 books, 100 videotapes, and a selection of other media. The library subscribes to 20 magazines, 10 professional periodicals, a daily newspaper, and 1 weekly newspaper.

Other library resources include a DVD player, TVs and VCRs, and a video camera. Access to Direct-TV is also available.
