     You will be researching two of the Middle Atlantic states.  Click on the state names to go to their home page.

  Delaware     Maryland     New Jersey     New York     Pennsylvania

    Find something that is common only to that state.  This could be a tourist attraction, a landmark, a body of water, a monument,etc...  You will illustrate that item on one side of your postcard after your paragraph is finished and printed.   This postcard will be a regular piece of 8 1/2"x11" paper.  Your illustration will fill the entire paper.  You should practice your illustration on a blank piece of paper before starting on your final copy.
    The other side of your postcard will be a paragraph of information about the illustration and about the state that you are researching.  There should be 3 sentences about the illustration.  There should also be 4 more facts about your state in the paragraph.  To help you narrow down what facts to use in your paragraph, click here to pull up a questionaire to answer about your state.  Print this questionaire so that you may use it in your research.
    Using your gathered information and Microsoft Word, design a document that has 2 columns.  You will type your paragraph in one of the columns.  Make sure you follow correct paragraph form.  You should have three sentences about your illustration.  Four more facts about your state should be included in the rest of your paragraph.  You will choose the color, size , and font style.  The other column on your page will be used for the address.  Use your own name, address, and zip code for the postcard.  After finishing both columns, print your Microsoft Word document.  Then your illustration can be added to the other side.
    Repeat this process with your other Middle Atlantic state.
