Building Representative Responsibilities

  1. Serve as the liaison between PTA and your respective building.
  2. Communicate with principal, teachers, staff, and parents of your building to keep them up-to-date on PTA happenings and to answer any questions they might have.
  3. Attend monthly PTA meetings and provide brief verbal summaries of the activities going on in your building.
  4. Find out the events being planned by your building and talk with planners of those events to see if they would like PTA to help them out somehow. Present the event and what part PTA would need to play in the event during the next PTA meeting. Budget consideration and possible vote will occur.
  5. Assist with fundraising efforts occurring in your building whenever necessary.
  6. Ask principal/teachers in your building if they would like to do any sort of presentation at/after a PTA meeting, e.g. if Ms. Tummons would like to have any children perform a musical number or if Ms. Brown would like to talk with the PTA members about her literacy program. Let one of the officers know your plans so they can be added to.

  • Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2009 PTA Carnival/Supper a huge success!  If you donated your time, money, a baked good, a basket or simply attended, thank you very much.  We’d especially like to thank Chris Kelly for his donation toward the Bounce Houses and the Game Crazy crew for brining their games and staffing them all day.

  • Thanks to James Finders and his family for completing his Eagle Scout project for the Learning Garden. He built four wonderful raised beds and two beautiful picnic tables.

  • Many thanks to Deanna Johnson, Nicole Morris, Tara Eppy, Terri Harrison, Liz Clark, Robin Shaon, Amy Hoehne, Kim Ponder, and Jenny Grabner (the scholarship committee) for reviewing each scholarship application and helping to select the five recipients and two alternates.

  • Thanks to Dale VanDeven and the H.S. staff for letting us use their gym, commons, kitchen, and library for our Carnival/Supper

  • Thank you to Mr. Salmons for his years of excellent service to our community.  He will be missed greatly..
