Dear Primary/Elementary Families,
Hello and welcome to the 2007 – 2008 school year! I hope this is just the beginning of what turns out to be a very successful school year for everyone involved. Whether you are returning or are brand new, I can assure you that you are in a great place! I am looking forward to meeting and spending time with all of you.
At the time that this letter is being mailed, we are still uncertain if the new building will be ready for the start of school or not. If it is not, then the third and fourth graders will begin school in the existing elementary building next to the middle school. We will just have to wait a few more days and see. This is a very exciting time for our students and community. The building is going to be absolutely beautiful and worth the wait and potential confusion, I promise!
You will find a class list enclosed. All placements are final at this point. As stated in the student handbook, requests for specific teachers must be made prior to May 1. Thank you for your support in this effort.
I strongly encourage you to take part in your child’s education by asking him/her about school each day; reading with your child daily; promoting healthy habits like getting plenty of rest and balanced meals; being positive about school and learning; getting involved; setting expectations; and making school important by insisting on good attendance and punctuality.
I am committed to creating a “top quality school” by
promoting a warm and nurturing environment, maintaining a continuous focus on
improvement of instructional practice, and setting high standards for everyone
