Welcome to
the Parents As Teachers program at Southern Boone Elementary R-1 Schools. PAT recognizes the vital importance of a
child’s early learning experiences.
SoBoCo R-1 District provides a full range of services from prenatal to
school age children to help them be ready to enter kindergarten with confidence
and success. PAT is designed for
families with various amounts of experience, education, and income. The program is free and open to ALL families
in the school district.
Components
of the SoBoCo PAT program are numerous.
Personal home visits are offered throughout the school year to every
enrolled family with birth to age three children. During this time, a certified parent educator
will provide information on growth and development. Periodic screenings of your child’s
development with hearing, vision, and health checks are also provided to assess
general progress and development.
Group
Meetings, Little Eagle Readers, and Drop-in and Play sessions are also offered
during the school year to share experiences and resources, listen to guest
speakers, and gather information on a variety of parenting topics. These events are held in the PAT resource
