RE: Homework Hotline!
DATE:
August 10, 2006

Research has shown that practice outside of the classroom can improve retention and knowledge acquisition.  For that reason, it is often necessary to assign homework.  Parents can encourage their students and help them keep track of assignments by utilizing our homework hotline!  Each night a student or parent may go to the Internet and log onto the middle school webpage.  They will find a large HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS icon.  Click on that and find a listing of grades 6, 7, or 8.  Click on your choice to find the core team assignments for that grade level.  Teaching teams at the middle school are having these posted each day on the web page by our technology department.  They should be up and ready after 4:00 PM each day from anywhere in the world.

There is also a HOMEWORK HOTLINE feature in our phone system that gives all the core team assignments for a grade level by dialing the middle school number 657-2146 after 4:00 PM and then dialing the number for each grade level as follows.

            Grade 6            extension  #1360

            Grade 7            extension  #1370

            Grade 8            extension  # 1380

Each Hotline will give you the voice of one core teacher from that grade level.  They will read off the list of assignments for the five core subjects of Math, Writing, Reading, Science, and Social Studies for the chosen grade level.  Merely hit the number 2 on your keypad to repeat the assignment or dial the four digit extension for any other building voice mail or hotline number you wish and you should be automatically transferred.  If you need a special assignment for a special education or other teacher you may need to call that voice mail.  It is our hope this aid students and parents in keeping up with homework assignments and meeting academic success!
